also, the memory in my laptop is 2100, would 2700 benefit me more? or would it still work at 2100?

I do take Paypal. There is an additional 3% surcharge if you have to pay with a credit or debit card (no charge for payments funded from an existing paypal balance or bank draft - this is the same fee that paypal charges me to process these transactions).

The T40 only supports a 266MHz memory bus, so DDR PC2700 would be overkill in that machine (it would run at PC2100 speeds).

I have ONE stick of PC2100 1GB. That is $77.50.

No, it does not incur the surcharge.

the price difference between 2700, and 2100 does not seem to be that big of a difference.

if 2700 would work, i still would be interested in that becasue all my other computers are 2700.

Is runnign 2700 in a 2100 computer possible and or reccomended>?

Yes, it is possible and there is no problem doing it. Again, like I said earlier, it will ONLY run at PC2100 speed. So there is zero benefit to putting a PC2700 stick in a PC2100 only machine.

I'll do whatever you (or any other buyer) wants. Just wanted you to know it is a waste of $5 in a T40.

Does it matter if you run different brands of memory together? Since I don't think the T41p is dual-channel?

Normally, no. As long as the timings are the same.

Now, here is my qualifier to that: in about 1 in 100 instances, I see non-paired sticks with the same timings that refuse to work with each other. I don't have an explanation for it.

If it doesn't work w/ your current stick, you can just return it to me for a refund (minus the cost of shipping).
