Multi-burner questions on my t42p!

#1 Post by skitty4gzus » Sun Aug 27, 2006 1:33 pm

Hi, I am a recent transfer from the T2x, T3x discussion area! I just bought a t42p from a member on here and I was wondering before it gets here if my multi burner from my t30 will work on a t42p? If it doesnt what model numbers or what should i be looking for in the new one. I think the one I have is probably and older model anyways and the speeds for writing and reading are pretty slow. Like 16, for cdR, and something like 2.4x for dvdR. To me thats pretty slow, but this is a multi slim burner for a t30 so maybe thats what to expect? Im not really sure though so could somebody shed some light on this for me! Thank you

I could be wrong but i am pretty sure it will not work. The t30 laptop uses an larger drive i think 11.5 mm and the t40 series laptops use the 9.5mm drives. Good luck

No it will not work the t30 drive is bigger, You can always sell it and get the correct one.

a dual layer drive could cost 200$ new. I am not sure how much the single layer drive would be.
