Strange 9 Cell question

#1 Post by admsteiner » Wed Aug 18, 2004 10:59 am

Hey guys,

I had a 9 cell battery with approximately 20-40% charge. Restarted my PC and it said it was at 2%. I began recharging it and suddenly it went to 100% (a couple of hours later).

The battery wizard says the 9 cell is at 100% with 51.11Wh of remaining *and* Full Charge capacity. Cycle Count is 0. Next to both the cycle count and Full Charge capacity is has an asterisk

The battery should only have one or two cycles, if any. I'm curious if this means the battery is defective and if I should return it to IBM for a new one. It's one of the Sony's.

TIA,

That 51.11Wh doesn't sound good..I think mine has something like 78Wh....

So does/did mine.

I'm wondering if that means the battery is defective...
