fingerprint software password issue

#1 Post by Chadi » Mon Aug 28, 2006 8:19 am

Specs:
T42p Q2U
Windows XP Pro SP2
Norton A/V 2005

I do not know why, but my finger print software constantly asks me (upon every reboot) if I want to update my password or use the same as windows password. I select to use set the same as current windows password, then it shows me the small white box / password prompt with old / new / confirm new password dialog box. I input the old, new, confirm new and hit ok. Absolutely nothing happens.

I have completely uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted. Same exact problem. I have no idea why.

I downloaded this one:

Please help!

I have no virus, malware/spyware at all.

Also how do I update my Intel 2200BG wireless driver?

I purchased a Belkin Pre-N router with the newer technology, so trying to get the wireless up to par as much as possible.

Hi, there,
I am having same issue as well after I updated recommended packs. I believe it is a side effect caused by new power management program. Can you roll your update back and see if it can fix the issue. I will do it tonight.

You can always go into the BIOS and errase fingerprint data (under security)

You can always go into the BIOS and errase fingerprint data (under security), but it won't fix the problem. Next time when you try to use the fingerprint login again, you will regret.

Last night I signed in my T42 in Safe mode, uninstalled the ThinkVantage power management program in "Add or Remove Programs", and reboot the machine.

Woala, it is working as-is.

Cheers! :P :P
