Problems with resume that doesnt work after standby

I have just purchased a T60P 2007-FBG and there isnt really installed anything on it yet except for VMWare Server 1.01. But none the less the resume function doesnt work after standby.
Hypernation seems to work, but standby is so much faster and I really would like it to work.

The machine also sometimes beep quite strange when I ask it to reboot.

My T41 doesnt have problems with my wireless access point ( .g and WPA), but it simply doesnt work with T60P.

Edit: Almost forgot the fingerprint feature - Does this work at all?

The machine was delivered with 2GB of RAM and the BIOS is 1.09a. According to the update program no updates are available.

I have always been happy about my ThinkPad's, but I must admit I am quite disapointed with this model. It costed more than 2000$ and such simple features doesnt work out of the box.
