Battery charging issue

#1 Post by surg » Thu Aug 31, 2006 2:30 am

Both standard and 8 cell battery in my X60s always are charged to the max although I adjusted settings in powermanager to stop charging process at 94%.
This happens with everything updated to last specs.
No difference between bios 1.04 and 1.06 also.

I think that the way it works is that it only charges if it drops below 94% (not that it won't charge all the way to 100%). This keeps the number of charge cycles down if you just use it away from power for a few minutes here and there.

Is the Power Manager Gauge displayed in your task bar? The settings are only effective when the Gauge is visible.

You can specify when it will start charging (less than 40% for example) and when to stop charging (when reached 95%).

What would be the optimal setting? to maximize battery life? Currently, I have it set to 40% - 95%.
