Screw

#1 Post by NS » Fri Sep 01, 2006 6:14 am

* Ok everyone, sorry... i am dumb *

I would like to know what does the 1 extra screw which comes with every thinkpad is used for...? Is it for the HDD or the ultrabay drive lock???

And 1 more thing... What is the name of the screw driver for the hard disk? e.g: we have the positive sign and negative sign screw drivers...<--philip screw drivers...

What is the HDD screw driver known as? 5 edges screw driver??

Sorry

In purely scientific terms, it's a wide-[censored] slotted/flat head.

I've not bought a "new" ThinkPad, but I assume the "extra" screw has the Allen wrench socket and is used for security. The "normal" slot head can be removed with any coin and get the HD out. Not everyone carries an Allen wrench with them.

The security (Allen wrench socket head) screw fits both the HD and the bay.
