System properties shows 209mhz instead of 333mhz for RAM?

#1 Post by geluidsgolf » Fri Sep 01, 2006 6:47 am

Hello I just upgraded my T42 to 1gb of ram and when I look in my system properties it tells me this:

processor 1.70GHz
209MHz, 1.00 GB of RAM

The memory I bought is 333MHz... Kingston KTMTP9828 512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM (ktm-tp9828/512)

Anyone knows what that 209MHz stands for??

Thanks!

On my T41p, it says 1,69Ghz, where yours say 209Mhz.

So I think this is not RAM speed, but current processor speed.

That being said, I have no clue as to why your processor would go down to 209Mhz. Try setting a different power profile, put the computer on AC, and see if the speed goes up...

Mine says 509MHz, guess it has something to do with the Clock Speed, not sure though

it on lowest settings on battary

but i belive we discussed that before and agreed that
windows can not show clock speed correctly for some
reason and its actually 500mhz

Speedstep lowers the speed of the processor based on current system requirements. If you go into your power management setttings and remove control of the processor from the OS, as well as configure the bios to maximum performance all the time, that speed will go back up to the initial processor rating.

Nothing is wrong with the unit.
