Different rubber coating on 600E and 600X?

Having them both side by side, I noticed that the 600E has a somewhat smoother rubber coating on the palm rests than the 600X. Has anyone else noticed this? Did they used a different finish for the different models, or was it just sample variation? The 600E finish felt slightly better to me, btw.

I think it is just sample variation. I have ordered 600e palmrest for my 600x and they look and feel exactly the same.
