pcmcia port

#1 Post by billyibmm » Sat Sep 02, 2006 2:30 pm

i have been loading my pics thru this port, but after rerunning windows 98, i can't seem to get the laptop to see the compact flash card at this port. i can't remember if i need special software for this to happen. i thought that windows would automatically see it as a hard drive, but i can't remenber. anyone know.

I have toasted a couple of compact flash cards by accidently leaving them in the machine when I reinstalled windows.

With 98 you probably will need a driver for your particular pcmcia card.

just to let you know what i found out, that the pcmcia port will not recognize a flash card as a removable hard drive if the laptop is mounted on the sub base, because it sees the cd rom instead.
