Fingerprint problems on T60s

#1 Post by Christian » Wed Sep 06, 2006 1:20 am

Hi,

I currently bought 4 T60's and 2 of them is giving me problems with the fingerprint software. When it is enabled, the computer never gets to to the CTRL-ALT-DELETE / Fingerswipe screen. It just stalls just before. The machine is up and I can ping it. I have to boot into Safe Mode without networking and go into the software and disable it to get it working again. The users are frustrated about the new feature that doesn't work :( Please help!

Solved: Its the tvt_gina.dll thats messing things up. I went into safe-mode, disabled the fingerprint software, went back into normal mode, disabled 'Allow Wireless connection at Windows Logon' in Global settings in Access Connections 4.12, rebooted, enabled fingerprint software, rebooted, enabled 'Allow Wireless connection at Windows Logon', rebooted and now it works!

I have the exact same problem. Only the thing is, I haven't got the admin's password. Is there another way to resolve the problem or should I just rely on our IT-support on this one..?

That's the way it is.

If you dont have a local user, your only option is to logon using the administrator. Otherwise you need some sort of software to reset the administrator password but the IT department would probably be pretty mad if you did that :)

I'd say rely on your IT department for that one. But at the same time you ask them, do send them a copy of the post above that explains how to fix it, so they don't have to waste time chasing down the solution.
