Overheat Protection

#1 Post by JakeTheMan » Thu Sep 07, 2006 7:52 am

Does the Intel Core Duo processor have an inbuilt overheat protection? Will it power itself off if the temperature gets to high? I know the P4 has some kind of protection for overheating and i'm just curious if the Core Duo has it also.

it surely does. The Pentium M throttles down the processor speed when the temperature reaches 100C, so I'm sure the Duo/Solo have a more advanced method to prevent chip damaging.
