faster warrenty service

people probably know this, but one can get much faster service by taking one's warrentied laptop to an "authorized ibm warrenty service place". For instance, my motherboard needed to be replaced as the video card was dying on tuesday. Instead of doing IBM EZ-SERVE, I took it to a local NYC place, they ordered the part (actually took a bit longer due to my motherboard being replaced in the past and needing approval) and it was fixed today. With IBM EZ-SERVE the best I was looking at was getting a box on wed, and getting my laptop back friday. Here, if there wasn't the hiccup w/ ordering the new part, I would have had it yesterday and even getting it today is still faster. And, it's still all free as under warrenty, no money out of pocket.

To me, it seems as long as one is willing to go to a service center, there ends up being little advantage to NBD service.
