Just got my Z60m - very happy with it - bought a version with a dedicated video card in prep for Vista.
I have access to RC1 - which by most reports is pretty stable - just wondering if anyone has installed it yet on their thinkpad.
I'm downloading it now - and intend to install it - will report details of that experience. But wondering if I'm the first or if there are others....
BTW - I love the blue thinkvantage button. Makes this kind of experimentation so much easier...
Anyone running Vista yet?
I posted in one of the Vista threads in the Windows forum.
I installed Vista RC1 5600 last weekend on my Z60m - it was nice, or it certainly looked nice. Fingerprint software doesn't work, and neither does the trackpoint scroll (except some limited functionality only in IE). I read Nero didn't work either. I also don't like how there is no Up button when navigating in explorer. The trackpoint scroll was enough to make me switch back to XP. I figure I'll try it again in a month or two.
I'm not a big fan of the ibm "blue button" - I just used acronis to make an image of my drive with XP on it. Then when I was done playing with Vista I made an image of Vista and then put back my XP image. Much quicker than the "blue button" - and with the blue button you can't save a copy of your driver with Vista, so you're going to have to install it all over again when you want to test it again.
