First thing I do with a laptop, is check for dead pixels - I don't like doing it, but I do anyway...Hopefully you won't have any...

And see, I think this is appalling advice. With the keyboard, for example, we've seen at least one person on this board swap out the "bad" keyboard for the "good" keyboard and immediately go back to the first one. Same with the battery, there was at least one person who swapped out batteries and found that the other manufacturer's product fit just the same.
My advice is to use it. If in your use you find something that isn't up to par, then look for a remedy.

I got my keyboard swaped, from China to Thai, due to a defective sticky key and I can see why the person nonny mentions went back to the old: The keyboard just feels different. And if you are used to the bounciness of the keyboard (I felt the other keybaord's keys were a bit taller and softer) the Thai keybaord will take some getting use to. I experienced the same thing; however, I feel the Thai keyboard to be of superior quality and I couldn't go back to the China keyboard now...

bleh...I received my 2373-3XU [15 inch] several days ago, and the build is absolutely perfect, beautiful to be precise [0 dead pixels] , however I got the Chinese keyboard. After reading reviews of both keyboards on this forum, I decided to try out the Thai keyboard so ordered one from IBM. They unfortunately sent me the Thai keyboard for the 14 inch model
. Soon I have will have two useless keyboards sitting at home, the Thai 14 inch one [useless to me], and the extra Chinese one after I receive the Thai 15 inch and switch them out. Anyways, despite this minor error IBM has awesome customer service.
