Unwanted wake from hibernation

#1 Post by mikek » Tue Sep 12, 2006 9:55 pm

In the last few days, my T42 has started to wake itself from hibernation. It's doing it overnight - so I'm not sure quite when. I'm not aware of anything that's changed to cause this - and I've certainly not been in the BIOS recently.

I've searched this site, but not found a post that directly deals with this... but is there any way to work out what's causing it to wake up? I'm worried that it'll wake up one day when I'm travelling and it's in my back pack.... drain batteries and overheat...

Any ideas?
Thanks
Regards

Take a look in Event Viewer for any clues. Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer. Look for events that occurred when your laptop came out of Hibernation.

If your getting the error message "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API" when the system comes out of hibernation, (this is somehow related to having 1.5 Gb or more of RAM in a laptop) then there's a Microsoft patch available, by special request, to correct this.

As they say all throughout the fix write up, it only corrects that specific issue.
