How to find out parts?

#1 Post by Mugrunty » Tue Sep 12, 2006 10:59 pm

Hello, I've been reading these posts for a long time and i finally decided to join. This is really one amazing forum. Well Anyway I remember seeing a forum that gave a link that you could go to that would tell you what parts were used with your system. Like Screen, keyboard and stuff like that. To find out if you have the alps keyboard or the screen type... So i couldn't exactly find it on lenovo's website or in the forums here, so it'd be great if you guys could give me a link or something. Thanks!!! :D

You can use the following link: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... sLookup.vm

The easier way is to press the ThinkVantage button and choose Learn > System information > Warranty & parts (at least it works with the Access IBM button on my T42).
