Hi everyone,
Is there a way to remote power on a t4x series easily?
imagine laptop 12ft away from your screen and you need the laptop turned on easily from where your sitting..
thoughts?

Remotely as in IR? Not really
You can dock a Thinkpad and turn it on, but that requires a dock that can do it.
You can also put it into hibernate/suspend and set WakeOnLAN to on, hook it up to the network (again, better to do this with a dock), then send "wakeup" activity to it.
The latter is probably your most viable solution to this.
It would be far easier if the IR could receive such packets (it can, but with *alot* of obscure hacking that defeats the purpose) from a remote to "wake up" the Thinkpad.
