So i recently picked up a Nokia E61 cell phone, installed the latest Nokia PC Suite on my T41 and after a reboot, the system would lock up as soon as it booted to windows. The mouse works, but i cannot click on anything, even Task Manager freezes as soon as its loaded.
Uninstalled, used the Nokia Driver Cleaner, tried older versions and all of them do the same thing, as soon as it boots to windows, frozen solid. All i can do is boot to safe mode, msconfig and remove any nokia apps from my startup.
Any ideas? This isn't good as without the software, there is no way to sync up my new cell phone.
After searching the web (specifically forums that deal with Nokia), i don't see anyone else with this problem.
Major problem with my T41 - Cannot use Nokia software
I use Nokia Suite version 6.80.22 on my T42 without any problem. I have only synced with my Nokia via IR.
How are you trying to connect? Do you have bluetooth in your T41? .
Take a look in Event Viewer for clues. Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer. Also look in Device Manager for any problems - red X's or yellow !'s.

I havent even reached the point of attempting a connection, after installing the software i reboot my laptop and bam, its frozen. Havent even tried getting it to work with my phone.
Event Viewer shows nothing of interest and no Device Manager concerns...
Does your T41 have bluetooth? If it does, that would be one difference from my setup. Phone tools has bluetooth drivers.
Is your BIOS and Embedded Controller updated to the latest version? How about the other IBM software? What about the Intel Chipset drivers? Check below.
Software and Device Drivers - ThinkPad T40, T40p, T41, T41p
BTW, which version of Windows are you using; XP, W2K, or something else? What service pack level are you at? Does Windows have all the updates installed?
Have you ever installed any other communication software or software that uses the USB port that might be causing a conflict?
