560 keyboard in a 600

Older ThinkPads.. from the 600, the 7xx, the iSeries, 300, 500, the Transnote and, of course, the 701

560 keyboard in a 600

#1 Post by lenmullen » Sat Sep 16, 2006 4:38 pm

I just acquired a 560 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0025472694). I have no use for this laptop, really. It looks similar to the 600 and 600e thinkpads I own, and I was wondering if the keyboard could be used in a tp600. They appear to be the same except that the 600 kbd has an extra button in the palm rest. BTW, anyone know what that button does?

If you are interested in getting rid of the 560, let me know. I could use some parts from it, or even take it whole (minus the keyboard of course).

Note that the 560Z is the only keyboard to use the 600 keyboard. The 560, 560E and 560X use a different keyboard.

I'll keep you in mind if I don't do anything with this. Right now, I am looking for a 16-bit wireless card. The machine came loaded with crappy games which wife and kids think are the bomb!

PM me your email and I'll remember you if I don't do anything with this.
