ac adaptor
ac adaptor
whats with the ac adaptors the the plugs into the laptop always get lose in side and then they it will just come out very easly or just moving it can stop it from working. is there a model made by ibm or a 3rd party ac adaptor that is better one that will lock in and not come lose.

1. Did u try using a new adaptor?
2. If the problem persists with the new 1 then the problem lies with the laptop pin.
3. U can check with IBM service center for the same. U might need to change it.
4. Do not buy any other brand of adaptor, IBM is the best. Using others might cost a new laptop.
5. It has a good lock and i just checked with mine.

The problem could be with the male pin in your laptop. As you tried with the new adaptor, its not locking the female pin(Adaptor's). Do you lift your laptop frequently?.. If so you need to check that your not hurting the pin behind. Else you might need to replace the male pin. Mine is locking perfectly. what is the FRU of adaptor you are using and the model of IBM.

That is a function of the magnetic inductive pickup being used by Apple for a power coupling.
The idea is not new and a physical connection is more efficent. Has nothing to do with being "loose".
Think of an isolation transformer.
No physical connection between the the input and output sides, just the magnetic field in the middle.
I know this is a "simplified" explanation but, look at it... It IS simple, theory looks complicated, not the hardware.
