570e lcd closed sensor reattachment

#1 Post by cure » Wed Sep 20, 2006 5:29 am

The central cover (1060 from the maintenance manual; the strip between the keyboard and the bottom of the LCD) has on the left hand side a circular point where the pin from the lcd makes contact when one closes up the computer so as to shut off the screen. That pin is afixed to a little metal stip that is in turn afixed to the underside of the central cover. The strip has come loose and was bouncing about in my computer. It had been held on by two tiny black plastic pins, but they no longer function adequately in that role. I could just leave it out, but work like to somehow reliably reattach it. Any one have any experience with this? Suggestions as to fixing it in place?

Thanx,

cure
