WiFi disconnect ; Macromedia flash player

#1 Post by venik » Wed Sep 20, 2006 7:08 am

I have two problems:
1) My WiFi connection is interrupted frequently. It reconnects itself, but downloads and VPN connections are interrupted. This started after I "updated" the software using the Software Updaters. Installing the older version of hte driver did not solve the problem, so I am at a loss.
2) When I click on the Thinkvantage Technologies, I am told that the program requires the MacroMedia Flash Player version 7 or newer. THis USED to work in the past, and my attempts to install a Macromedia flash player have failed. Instead, I get the Adobe Flash player, which does not solve the problem. Again, this has started after the "update".
Thanks for any informaiton.

Adobe released a security bulletin recently about Flash Player 8.2 and earlier. Best to update to the latest Adobe (who swallowed Macromedia) Flash Player 9.x

Not sure what "Thinkvantage Technologies" refers to (Access IBM?), but perhaps uninstalling that and reinstalling AFTER the new Flash Player will help. Or ... ensure have the latest. Any program that looks for Macromedia Flash Player 7.0 is getting outdated IMHO.

Too true. QuickBooks 2006 does that, and I have to uninstall Flash, install QB and re-install Flash. Pain in the butt. Yes, I have told them and presumably QB 2007 won't have that problem, but I don't know yet. ... JD Hurst
