Error 2010

#1 Post by thinkpadpete » Thu Sep 21, 2006 2:17 am

Hi,

when I put in a harddisk in a Thinkpad R52 I get the following message:

Error 2010 : Warning : your internal hard disk drive (HDD) may not function correctly on this system. Ensure that your HDD is supported on this system and that the latest HDD firmware is installed

The harddisk is a hitachi model HTS424040M9AT00;
I found firmware upgrade for this hd on the following link:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... 82#changes
The firmware is exactly the one for the used harddisk mentioned above. When I run the bootable cd, the message appears that no firmware is required for this harddisk.

So the error message keeps on coming.
What can I do?

Try this

I also have this 2010 error. I always use ESC to bypass the error message. R52 uses PATA HDD...

So far, i use ESC to bypass the 2010 error and till now all my data saved in the HDD are still intact... :-)

NS,

thanks for your response, but

this was not a solution, I mean, what you suggested under 'try this'

I still get that no firmware upgrade is needed for the harddisk.
