A22m won't boot with 2 batteries

#1 Post by adowns » Sat Sep 23, 2006 8:28 am

I recently bought a second battery for my A22m to go in the ultrabay slot. I'm using Windows 98SE.

Boots fine with main battery only.
Boots fine with main battery, with AC adapter.
Boots fine with ultrabay battery only.
Boots fine with ultrabay battery, with AC adapter.
Boots fine with both batteries only.

Will NOT boot with both batteries and AC adapter.

(But I can boot into safe mode with both batteries and AC adaptor.)

Any suggestions?

Wow... that is a REALLY specialized issue. If it will allow safe mode booting maybe it will boot with a diffrent O/S installed with that configuration of power.

The only real suggestion I could give, would be just disconnect one of the 3 power sources until SE boots. Then connect your 3rd source up.

That's what I'll have to do. Boot up with the main battery, then put in the secondary battery after it's up and running. Thanks for your reply.

Problem solved. I upgraded from Windows 98SE to Windows XP and it now works fine with all combinations of batteries and AC power.
