my battery is a LOSER...

#1 Post by corleone » Mon Sep 25, 2006 7:07 am

Recently, I've noticed that Im not getting nearly as much life out of a charge as I used to. I will have my t42 plugged into the dock over night, yet when i remove it and bring it in to school... open it up... I'm at or around 75-80% . What could explain this phenomenon?

thanks for nay input you can lend,

C.

My T42 is about a year and a half old, and my battery has about 2/3rds of the original capacity with a cycle count of 71. Single left click on the green battery icon in the Notification Area and choose Battery Information > Battery Health... There you can check the first use date, the cycle count, design capacity, and current full charge capacity. Choose Improve Battery Health > Recondition Battery Now if you want to try and improve it. AC adapter must be plugged in when you recondition the battery.

When i left click the battery icon, it does not yield a BATTERY INFORMATION option... can i access this in another way?

after a year that is about normal to loose 25% of capactiy.
when you close your lid remeber to turn off wifi and any automanic activities so the computer don't come out of standby

My battery appears to show no loss of capacity whatsoever! After 13 month and about 200 cycles...

I don't quite trust this, but that's what the power manager says. Or could it be that it doesn't show up?

Thanks! Max
