Hi,
I just bought a used T23, type 2647 and I am very happy with it except for a small weird 'stain like' white shape in the middle of the screen that appears occasionally. Most times, when I tilt the screen back and forth a few times it goes away. One time, additional small spots appeared next to it. They didn't appear again.
I am not sure what to make of this phenomenon. It does not obstruct work - the 'stained' area does show the print/lines on the screen. It is like in the background.
My questions are:
1. Have you encountered this before? What may be the cause?
2. Will this escalate?
3. Should I try to return the laptop to the guy who sold it to me? I still cab I belive.
Thanks,
Ariel

Re: Weird white spot on the screen....
These are normally called "pressure spots" and can occur over time as the screen is subjected to external forces. Examples are: pressing the screen very hard with your fingers, having an object on your keyboard and then closing the screen, and to a lesser extent, putting something very heavy on the outside lid. If the seller stated that the LCD was in perfect condition, then you probably have grounds for a return, but generally these spots do not impact viewing images too much. Most of the pressure spots I have seen are 'permanent' in that they don't change shape or go away if the screen is flexed so yours may eventually become that way too.

Welcome to the Thinkpad Forums
As Ray said, those are most likely pressue spots. Although pressure spots can be both white, grey, or kinda blackish. They may fade slowly, then come back, then fade again in a cycle, but don't go completely away.
I would say you have grounds for a return, as well.
