Using Ghostcast 8.3 to image a T60

#1 Post by goku » Tue Sep 26, 2006 8:15 pm

Has anyone worked tried using Symantec GhostCast Server with T60 (or X60)? My company is working on deployment large amounts of T60s/X60s for our clients and we are running in to massive issues trying to connect to the server using the T60. In most cases, the ghostcast will fail if more than one unit is connected to a session. Even with just a single unit, we see failures about 5-10% of the time. We have tried using both NDIS2 network drivers and the stock Ghost Packet drivers. This is very frusturating. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

personally I am very happy with True Image ... I used Ghost but found it too demanding, too slow, and like many of Symantec products needlessly flashy with things that say I am real software and thus why I am expensive ... whereas True Image just does the job ... and quickly

I use ghostcast server with my T-60's daily.

I use a boot CD to start the laptop with Pro 1000 drivers (the latest). I then join the ghostcast session.

I've not had any problems yet. I am using my own XP image on the machine and not the Lenovo factory image.
