Will a T43 battery fit a T40 laptop?

Want to buy a T43 battery and I'm not sure if it will fit a T40. Most places say yes, while some don't say at all...........

Appreciate any help on this,

Of course it will; all T4X Series batteries will fit across all T4X Series Thinkpads; even the R5X Series of Thinkpads as well.

And the T43 battery capacity is 4800mAH vs 4400mAH for the older T4x batteries. You'll get about 9% more battery life.

I will confirm that the batteries will work as i have mixed and matched. Some new fyi lenovo's battery's are sayno and sony. Thus lenovo may be the next target for their sony battery recall.

... Already happened. Check the forum Announcement for information on checking T4x batteries.

I'd be wary of buying a battery in case it's a Sony firestick battery that someone's trying to unload. Then again, if you can get a free replacement battery, and don't mind the long wait on teh phone....
