External FDD Question

#1 Post by Catlover32 » Wed Sep 27, 2006 8:56 pm

I have an external FDD on my 600. The FDD is removable (so as to mount it internally) but there's a piece of plastic that prevents me from inserting my cd-rom drive in the external attachment. Can this piece of plastic be removed so I can put my cd-rom drive in it? Will that cause any problems?

To answer the question behind your question. The CDrom cannot be used in the external caddy. I have tried this myself before. I was able to get the CDrom into the caddy, but it wouldn't recognize it. I think that the problem my be in the fact that the port that the external floppy connects to is for floppys only.

I was kind of thinking that there might be port problems. Oh well, I had to ask...
