IBM Battery Recall

Well, my 9-cell T43 battery (Sony) is part of the recall. Anyone else have "explosive" batteries?

Can't take mine out now in class, but I have a 6 cell and a 9 cell with the feeling that they are both recalled.

Do we have to ship them to Lenovo?

You do not have to remove the battery, in the in the first post you can see another link where you can download a utility to verify if you have a affected battery.

Or just go into your ThinkPad Configuration (Start > Settings > Control Panel) and then go to 'System Information' (first button on left column) and then click 'Battery Information'. If it says SONY under 'Manufacturer Name' then you've got an IED in your ThinkPad.

is FRU 92P1073 part of the recall, i have this sony battery. Dont have my system with me, hence was curious if it was.
