FS: IBM T43p G3U-------Pictures included!!!

#1 Post by draxyu » Sun Oct 01, 2006 7:01 pm

I have an IBM T43p G3U for sale right now. The reason I want to sell this baby is that I want to buy a macbook pro instead since the macbook is capable to install windows as well.
The laptop is in mint condition.
Here is the specification:

PM770 2.13G
2G DDR2 533M RAM (Yes, I upgraded the ram to maximum)
60G Hitachi 7K100 HDD
14.1 SXGA+ SCREEN w/out any dead or bad pixels
128MB RAM ATI FIREGL V3200
DVD/CDRW COMBO
Bluetooth
802.11A/B/G
Almost new 9-cell battery plus a used 6-cell battery

There is still 2.5 years IBM warranty left on this laptop.
Model: 2668-G3U
S/N: L3WNXTW

The total price will be $1550 OBO-----------$1240.

I am a USC student. I can do the trade in downtown Los Angeles and also I can do this on ebay(my ebay acc is sindrax, check it out!) with paypal but you need to have a confirmed address first!

PM me your telephone # or ask mine.

Enjoy!

Check my local listing on Los Angeles craigslist!!!!

Price is too high. You can get a T60 with the same characteristics for the same price more or less.

No, you can't unless you get it through EPP which many of us do not have access to. It's a good price comparing it to retail; a comparable T60P will run you at least $2,000 or more.

Is this still for sale? If so, is the 2.5 year warranty valid in Iceland? If so, how much would it cost to ship to Reykjavik, Iceland?

Nice setup, but think the price is still a bit too high.

It is lower than the highest-end, new price you can get to the point that it is competitive, but not really that low to cause a rush for most. The real extras are the remaining 2.5 warranty years, 6-cell along with the original 9-cell battery, and more memory.

Still, not a bad deal and that is a decked out Thinkpad model. :)

Yeah. I think the warranty is valid in Iceland. But I really don't think I can ship oversea unless you pay in money order. Paypal sucks when dealing with oversea transactions.

pretty much like Chris said. Its a good deal for what your getting, but not low enough for it to sell immediately. Sweet setup though. I love my t42p and I am making myself stay in love with it and not try to figure out a way to get a t43p or t60p. The P only makes it BETTER!

Willing to buy proc and mobo if you part it out. We can talk on a price. I live in Palos Verdes, if you're familiar with the rest of LA--about 50 min drive, so no problem.

hell, a 90 minute drive in S. Calif. is no problem. Might only be 2 or 3 freeway exits depending upon the time of day :P

Not to threadcrap, but is there really anypoint in doing it over ebay over a personal trade?

I recently got burned on a ~$25 ebay deal -- sent the money through paypal, never received an item, nor any communication from the seller.

Ebay told me to file a claim through paypal, paypal told me that they "tough luck".

Claim never received the item. Let the seller to show the tracking information. If he can't, you will get your refund back through paypal.

#23 Post by semaj » Sat Feb 10, 2007 5:54 pm

nice laptop just doesn't have a lot of hype anymore. people are generally looking for a deal so that is why everyone is asking for a price reduction. something to tell their friends i got a great deal on this. I had a t42p laptop and it was great I sold it. I upgraded a T41 with the new mb. the tr3p would be nice since i think it has a faster bus than mine, more than 400mhz.
