Can't get Bluetooth to work on T43

#1 Post by Bob J » Mon Oct 02, 2006 11:45 am

I've recently purchased a T43 laptop and have been trying to install a V270 Logitech Bluetooth mouse. The laptop model is 1875DMU and as far as I can tell, it came equipped with Bluetooth. What confuses me though, is that there's no Bluetooth indicator on the laptop. It's shown on some of the websites as being to the right of the wireless indicator. Also, I believe there needs to be a Bluetooth card which is combined with the modem card? Not sure about that either. I installed the IBM Bluetooth drivers but then discovered that the V270 will not work with those. So then I uninstalled the IBM drivers and am now relying on the Windows SP2 Bluetooth drivers. But nothing ever seems to show up whenever I try to initiate the install of the V270. The mouse doesn't come with a dongle so it must be broadcasting to the Bluetooth card in order to recognize a new device, but no matter what I do, nothing's happening. I don't even get the Bluetooth icon showing in the tray. I tried running the bluetooth control panel program from the RUN command, but nothing shows up in the CP. Any advice would be appreciated. I'm thinking that Bluetooth isn't installed/available on this model. Bob

Sorry, no. That model does not come with bluetooth. You may be able to add it, but it is not there now.
