40Y6999 battery does not fit X60 - 1709-7HU?

I have an X60 (model #1709-7HU) and it came with an 8-cell battery installed. A docking unit came with the laptop as well. I wanted to take something for light travel and decided to purchase the 4-cell slim battery.

But after receiving it, this battery simply does not fit in my X60? Is this true or did I receive the wrong battery? That is, the battery is meant for another ThinkPad?

The box that this battery came in is clearly marked "ThinkPad X60 Series 4 Cell Slim Line Battery".

The product number on the box says "40Y6999" while the FRU P/N on the battery says "92P1163".

Does the X60 and X60s have the same battery slot size? Or did I install the battery wrong?

Thanks GomJabbar! I read the link you provided and unfortunately for me, the 40Y6999 is not compatible with the X60.
