Restore OS to factory setting?

#1 Post by renhui » Tue Oct 03, 2006 10:21 pm

I am thinking of reinstalling the OS by restoring it to factory settings. I currently have four partitions, can I just restore the OS to the C drive without affecting other partitions?
Thanks a lot.

No.
"An atheist is just somebody who feels about Yahweh the way any decent Christian feels about Thor or Baal or the golden calf. As has been said before, we are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further."

A quick update here:

It turned out that you CAN restore the OS to factory settings without affecting other partitions. Just select "format C: only"when you are prompted with something like where you want to restore the OS to.

But I did a full HDD backup before the restore anyway.

Good to know, I've never seen the option before.
