Anyone else experience intermittent, high-pitched whine

#1 Post by Trolle » Fri Oct 06, 2006 1:56 am

There are numerous posts regarding intermittent, high-pitched whining but not in this forum. So, just wondering if I am the only one with this issue or it is has become so normal that it is a dead issue.

I noticed immediately after I got the machine but did not really start paying attention to it until recently.

It appears as if it happens either plugged in or on the battery and related to the wireless card since it appears to happen when loading a page. I may not be entirely correct though since I have not been paying that much attention.

But does anybody else experience something similar?

Yep, I do.
It's only there when running on batteries, but I can't be more specific. Have to test it.

I get it occassionally too. Happens on both battery power and A/C. Seems to come from the general area of the wireless card. Doesn't seem to affect performance (yet), so I haven't really worried too much about it.

I experience mine on both AC and battery also. It doesn't really bother me either as I normally don't work in an environment that is quiet enough, but I just wanted to know if anybody else was experiencing it or knows what it is.

I don't notice the whine, on battery or AC, but it may be a function of my somewhat elderly ears, with decreased high frequency sensitivity.
