Help, Time problem.

#1 Post by antiks » Sat Oct 07, 2006 10:13 pm

Sorry guys, I tried searching but nothing showed up.

Lately this has been happening and it seems like the time in windows is incorrect (taskbar). I have to manually change the time here and there because the clock is slower than normal. Anyone know why Windows time can delay or lose time?

I have Windows XP Professional, and a T60. Help is much appreciated! Thanks.

Windows is supposed to update the time via time.windows.com or time.nist.gov (or something of the like). It updates like once every two or three days. If it's updating, and you think it's slow, then your clocks are fast because both the time servers are on atomic time. If it's not updating, make sure you're connected to the internet and have the "automatic time update" box checked.
