Vista RC2 and fingerprint reader

#1 Post by tballx » Sun Oct 08, 2006 9:31 am

Hello. I've looked over the Lenovo web page with beta drivers for Vista and noted that the fingerprint reader on my t60p should be supported via Windows update. This doesn't look to be the case and vista RC2 has a question mark in device manager for "biometric coprocessor." Anyone had success in getting this working in RC2? If so, how?

Same here, even though (as far as i remember) in RC1 the fingerprint reader was indeed recognized. We have to wait :)

I'm having the same problem on my T43 and no I can't find anything on the MS update site either, by loading the XP drivers I can get the fingerprint reader to work (and the question mark in the device manager to go away) but the IBM software that intergrates it with the login etc. doesn't work in Vista so not much point really :(
All I wanted to do was use my fingerprint reader :'(

Thanks for the link :) unfortunatly I think Virgi44 is in the same seat as me and everybody else by the look of it, yes the drivers install and the fingerprint reader works, however as Andreab67 says further down in the thread, the connnection between the fingerprint reader and the actual security system in windows isn't working :(

Not sure really, I guess if you can use it if you find some softeare that will run in Vista and that uses fingerprints for something.

How I found that mine physically works was because I managed to run the IBM Thinkvantage fingerprint enrollment tutorial, my fingerprints showed up fine in there and it compared them and verified them and everything.
