For the last week or so, I've noticed that often, when I click the left button under the space bar after using the trackpad, the screen scrolls a bit first before registering the click. So I have to relocate the cursor and click again, sometimes twice, before the click registers in the right place. What could be causing this? And how can I stop it?
It's definitely not the trackpad/middle button scrolling feature. It's just that clicking the left button seems to scroll and then click.
Thanks -- Barbara

Are you sure it isn't selecting text with a, very lightly colored, highlight field and then dragging down the page when you click and, by accident most of the time, move the mouse slightly? Because that can cause the page to scroll sometimes. Some applications actually remember a text cursor's last position, then interpret a click into the application to attain focus as the new point to highlight to.
Does this also happen in all applications?
