Hi all,
I just received a new T60p (2007-93G), and have had problems with both network connections (wired and wireless).
I have had the disconnecting-wireless issue described elsewhere in this forum, but haven't had much luck resolving it. I uninstalled Access Connections, the ProSet wireless software, and the driver, and reinstalled the latest driver from the Intel site, but on booting my machine the wireless connection is never established. On right-clicking the icon and selecting "View Wireless Networks", I get told I need to start a Windows service to be able to continue, which I do, but which for some reason doesn't persist between reboots. Even when the wireless connection is established, it occasionally becomes VERY slow (e.g. 1.5Kbps!), to the point where browsing is impossible. The range seems terrible also.
I may ask Lenovo for the alternative wireless card, but if anyone has had any luck getting their Intel card to work, please let me know.
I've also had a problem with the ethernet connection whereby the network is very slow for a random interval, before suddenly speeding up. It takes quite a while after booting to be able to establish a connection at all, and the connection is never enabled automatically on boot. I need to manually go into Network Connections, right-click and Enable each time, several times before I get a connection. It always tells me the DNS Cache was unable to be cleared and that the attempt failed, but behind the scenes I am granted an IP address and can connect. I can only see this via IPConfig. Sometimes it seems like the system prefers to connect me when I've made a wireless connection first, but I'm not sure if that's just a voodoo observation on my part.
Pinging the gateway over the LAN (with wireless disabled, so this is definitely via the cable), I get this type of thing:

... after which, the ping is reliably 1ms or <1ms.
I have no experience in this area and I'd really appreciate any advice people can give.
Thanks very much,
