T43 annoyance when turning on the screen from idle

#1 Post by gradas » Tue Oct 10, 2006 8:16 pm

Scenario:

1. laptop is on battery and idle, so screen shuts off to save energy
2. I touch a key
3. Screen comes on instantly for about 1/2 sec.
4. Screen turns off for a moment and comes on permanently.

Why does it do step 4? Anyone know a quick fix for this???

Completely remove the IBM Power Management ACPI, then restart, then download the latest version from Lenovo site.

Hope this works for you
