Problem With Reseller

#1 Post by Timmy » Thu Oct 12, 2006 6:00 pm

Just a heads up to anyone thinking of purchasing from www.antonline.com.

I own an X60 and ordered a 4-cell slim battery from these guys. After discovering the slim battery does not fit the X60 (but the X60s), I sent emails to get an RMA or even an exchange for the correct battery. That was almost 2 weeks ago!

After checking www.resellerratings.com, I discovered Ant Online has a habit of not honouring returns and/or making it next to impossible to get them processed. I think they're philosophy is to make their customers crazy to the the point that they just go away!

If anyone is interested in an opened but new and unused 4-cell slim battery, let me know. I still have the packaging and manual that goes with it. If sales offers aren't allowed, I apologize!

Tim

You opened it, you get to keep it!

I fail to see any reason why they should issue you an RMA.

Would you have to open it to know that it wasn't the correct item? Their return policy is clear, but you can't just send anything you want to a customer and require them to keep it. Well you can, but the BBB will eventually attack you.

They can, as long as they sent you the correct item that you ordered. They are not required to issue an RMA if the buyer bought the wrong item.

What Steve said!

If you order an item from a retailer and after you've opened it you determine it's the wrong part, you get to keep it.

The ONLY times this isn't usually the case is when the item isn't as described, e.g. not new, or if you've called or written the retailer saying "I've got a Thinkpad model XYZ, please send me the correct frammistat for my laptop".
