re-format / xp install ?

#1 Post by macuser » Fri Oct 13, 2006 2:20 pm

Will the recovery CD's have the OS: XP pro on the disks? And if so does it work in conjunction with the COA on the back of the case?
:?:
I am in the process of expanding my HD to 100g.

Thank you in advance.

As long as those recovery disks came with your computer, then just use the product key on the COA when prompted on the setup and you should be fine. If it won't activate after you install, just call M$ and they should fix it.

The IBM/Lenovo Product Recovery Disc set restores the Windows XP operating system and all of the originally installed IBM/Lenovo software. There is no need to type in the product key or activate. When you use these discs, they erase all existing data on the hard drive.

GomJabbar is correct, and in fact, if the recovery asks you to activate, it most assuredly has gone bad. ... JD Hurst
