POLL: Atheros Client Utility or Intel Wireless Zero Config?
POLL: Atheros Client Utility or Intel Wireless Zero Config?
IBM Access Connection users need not apply. It sucks and if you prefer to use it please do not participate. Besides being a memory resouce waste, there are other reasons why it's horrible. Just do a forum search.
anway,
Which do you guys prefer? The Atheros Client Utility for the IBM a/b/g WiFi or just let WZC configure the WiFi. I'm using Windows SP2 and it seems to work much better than it did prior to SP2. However, I still like the Atheros Cliety utility. I can't seem to find an updated version that will work with SP2. I might resort to the older version.

ACU all the way, boot time connection is very fast. Rich features, easy to use and takes up only about 5MB of RAM (acs.exe).
My thinkpad has an intel card so I am stuck with WZC. It works, but nothing compared with ACU.
Does ACU not work in SP2? which version are you using?
I used 2.4.2.9 for a few months then 3.3.0.150 up till now on my old laptop.
I wasn't impressed at first either. I thought it's all about super G which I don't use. But after connecting to various access point, including airport express at home, I am very pleased with its compatibility and stability.

anyone have a link for the latest version of this? I'd like to be able to turn on superG and superA. (I have an A/B point at home but no G, and it could do superA with my Proxim A/B/G card.)
although yeah, the XP SP2 wireless setup is MUCH better than in SP1. I've been using it without any real trouble, other than the inability to easily select which frequency i want to use.
