Help with X31 and Hitachi 4gb CF

Hi, how are you guys..
thanx for reading my post.
i have a problem with my computer X31 it can't read the Hitachi 4gb Microdrive. i call to the IBm techsupport. does not help. can anyone tell fix the problem. i have another 256MB CF it does work fine, no luck on the Microdrive. the Microdrive is working in another computer (with the CF reader)

If you can read it with another card reader try to format it as FAT32 and then try to read it from the X31, as it might be FAT16 formatted which doesn't support over 2 GB. I have the same card and it works fine on my X31, I don't see why it shouldn't in yours.

stgreek, the card is formated for FAT32, but still doesn't load the card.. but, everytime during the restart, the computer take very long time to load to windows... plus, my windows is not orginal. i upgrade to a 80gb Hd, and all the driver i load my self. does it make any difference...

Hi, I recently had that problem after I reinstalled XP on my X31. I solved it by removing the compact flash driver then inserting a regular compact flash card into the slot. XP will then detect the new hardware again and reinstall the ATAPI drivers. After it is done, insert your 4GB microdrive back into the slot and it should detect it fine. Hope it works for you too!
