how to activate x31 wireless

#1 Post by ahbongkeo » Mon Oct 16, 2006 12:47 am

hi everyone,

i just bought an x31 thinkpad a few weeks ago. I have been doing some readings on it and it says that the x31 comes with a built in wireless. i have tried many different methods to get the wireless to work but still no results. I went to http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-43800 and downloaded the wireless driver for it but still futile. does anyone have any clues on how to get it to work?

yes, i did try fn+f5 but still nothing. i think the hard drive has been formated because even the access ibm button doesnt work. Can someone tell me whats the name of the device under device manager that is for the wireless internet is called, So i can check to see if i have the correct driver for it.

You should the wireless connection under Start > Settings > Network Connections.

If it's not there, look in Device Manager under Network adapters. Could be disabled or "unknown device" (ie no driver).

If still not, it could be that the previous owner removed the card ...

just use system updater and/or software installer and it will show you the available files and tools for your machine.

you don`t have to install all of them. just pick the ones you want and have the tool download and install them for you
