AC disappeared

#1 Post by DDGuy » Mon Oct 16, 2006 1:16 am

In my T43 one fine day the number of icons in the system tray were far less than usual, the AC icon was the most prominent one missing, BT icon was gone, my Nokia PCSuite s/w icon was gone. I tried to launch AC from program menu but all I got was the notorious QCTray message (There was no qctray process running in task manager). All Fn+ applications were not working too

I ran s/w installer today, it updated itself and then I selected most updates (except BT and Wired Ethernet drivers). This is what I have now

However the AC thingy is still dead, while all others are fine. There is no QCTray.exe running though some actions that are supposed to happen as a part of AC profile do happen, some don't :?:

Any help will be much appreciated

Any help

Any one?

In the mean time, I am finding that Fn+ combinations are all screwed up. Fn+F5 brings up Access connection instead of wireless, FnF9 doesn't bring up anything on screen (EasyEject). FnF7 works but without any on-screen display. A lot of my startup programs are still not starting on bootup.

Any ideas?

Maybe Windows System Restore would fix your problem. Restore to a point before your problems occurred. Go to Start > Help and Support, to get to System Restore.

Can you try this and let me now if it works? I got a feeling it is either the Lenovo Hotkey got messed up (ie Fn all not working) or that the .ll describe in the solution I found got messed up. Repair it using the method I learned from Lenovo support forum may work.

Thanks
