There was already a thread discussing that.

Also, that isn't the type that they use on the Thinkpads either. It is more difficult to break a "Swipe" type of fingerprint reader with a fake finger as opposed to the "Pad" type. :)

Bottom line, it took some considerable time to prepare for the break in, but they did do it. Maybe not great for very sensitive protection. But as another security layer, very good.

Also, we're in the infancy of this type of security. It will get much better.

They are still working hard to get the FPRs to reliably detect live tissue as opposed to non-live tissue as well. That, however, is far more difficult than it sounds. :)
