I was installing SP2 downloaded via automatic update, but it seems to take forever. So, I went to windows update site and began downloading SP2. While downloading SP2 via windows updates, I found out the automatic update also seemed to download SP2.
When the windows update has finished downloading(by this time, the automatic update also finished downloading SP2) and begun installing, it displayed an error message "Copy Error: setup cannot copy the file atapi.sys" in c:\windows\system32\drivers. I looked at the folder, but the file, atapi.sys is there. However, SP2 installation cannot copy the file.
Do you know what is going on? I have aborted the installation of SP2. After restarting T30, I have tried the installation of SP2 with the automatic updates, but the same error message pops up.
Thanks for your help.

If you aborted the SP2 update, you could be almost anywhere. And I think you are saying Auto Update was on and active while you were also downloading SP2.
Here is what I would do:
1. Temporarily turn off Auto Update.
2. Check your download. The SP2 file is 278,927,592 bytes in size.
3. Try to uninstall SP2 using Add/Remove Programs.
4. Assuming that works, restart and reapply SP2.
5. If step 3 does not work, try doing a system restore to before the SP2 update, restart and reapply SP2.
Good luck.

Thanks for recommendations, jdhurst.
Although I don't know where to look at to find out the downloaded SP2 files, I found out what was causing the problems. And yes, I was worried there might be duplicates of downloaded SP2 files and don't know where they are.(is it under C:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386? Its size is about 530MB. Is this from both SP1 and SP2?
)
Anyway, I had to uninstall DAEMON. And the error message of "cannot copy atapi.sys" is due to a virtualCD program. When DAEMON was uninstalled, SP2 was installed successfully.
