New idea for a mouse + need review for IBM mouse

#1 Post by gator » Fri Oct 20, 2006 2:49 am

I use a Microsoft optical mouse (comfort 1000) with my T60 and I hate the clicking noise the mouse buttons make. I was wondering whether there are any mice manufactures who make one with the kind of 'tap' technology that you see on laptop trackpads. I feel that would put a lot less strain on your fingers when you use the mouse.

I am sure there are people here who use the IBM mouse :D. Can anyone tell me how the mice are? Do they have a 'soft' click?

I dont know if this post belongs here - in case it doesn't, can the admins please move it to the proper place?

Here are some that have a touchpad in a external mouse configuration.

you could use the trackpoint.. the keys on it (at least on the T42 and X41 tablet) are silent :) and that way your hands never have to leave the keyboard :D

And if you are using a desktop, you can always get one of those IBM keyboards with integrated trackpoint. Ever since I got my first trackpoint (actually on a Toshiba Tecra) I have thought external mice were a waste of time.

Yup. I hate using my desktop computers because of dealing with a mouse. I want to get one of the IBM keyboards with trackpoint integrated, but I have a Happy Hacking Keyboard and I don't want to give up the awesome key feel of it :'(
